The Epley Manouvre and Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (Now that’s a mouthful)

Last year I started to see a trend where many of my patients were coming in with dizziness, which upon examination and plenty of research showed that they appeared to be suffering from Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo or BPPV, this condition is a form of vertigo caused by tiny fragments in the semicircular canals of the inner ear. Many of my patients were being referred to hospital and put on a waiting list for treatment, in the meantime many where placed on anti sickness medication.

The treatment they were waiting for was the Epley Manoeuvre, a combination of head movements that move the tiny fragments to a place where they can no longer cause these symptoms. As usual this sparked my interest and before I knew it I had signed up and went on a training course to learn how to perform the Epley Manoeuvre.

After having lots of fun on the course and lots of practice I came away with a fully fledged qualification that now allows me to perform the Epleys Manoeuvre, so if you hear of anyone saying they are very dizzy or have BPPV then pass on my details I may be able to help them.

Since my training several people have come in for the Epley Manoeuvre and I am pleased to announce that each and every one of them has reported a decrease / loss of symptoms after visiting.

I truly love learning new skills that I can put into practice to help all my patients.
